Participation of specialists "UNTC" LLC. in the joint conference SPE / EAGE «Interaction geological and hydrodynamic models"
Program of the conference was devoted to methodological and applied problems of modern geological and reservoir modeling. Ultimately, the main purpose of the model - is to obtain a realistic representation of the processes determining the conditions of development and operation of reservoirs. The main subject of much discussion among the participants of the conference was the question - how to improve the predictive value of constructed models? The complexity of the geological formation of deposits and physical laws describing the filtering uncertainty and incompleteness in the original information -intensive simulation technology - the whole complex of factors requires the development of approaches to improve the efficiency and feasibility of modeling.
General sponsor of the conference was the company "Gazprom Neft". This, of course, could not affect the composition of the participants - there were many of representatives of the organization, co-director of the of the conference was "Gazprom Neft-NTC" Mars Khasanov. This time there were more reports of from Russian companies (Rosneft, Lukoil, Roxar, etc.). Several presentations also had of representatives from the Western and Schlumberger, Total.
All submitted papers can be divided into following groups:
- Development and Prospects of theoretical approaches to modeling;
- Review of practical experience of modeling on examples oil fields deposits
- The integration of simulation in general workflow development management, justification approach to selecting of models in terms potential effectiveness of the results.
Of a first cluster of reports has seemed more interesting report of Voskova Denis Representative Stanford University "Modern hydrodynamic modeling: uncertainty and error and problems." In this paper highlighted improving reliability issues of numerical schemes, approaches to the reduce uncertainties which arises because of the choice and orientations of accuracy grids models.
From the standpoint of practical simulation remembered report Mitiaeva M. (Gazprom Neft NTC) "Application of conceptual modeling approach in monitoring the development Vyngayakhinskoye field." Based on the results of conceptual modeling, the authors have proposed an approach to the design, which allows for justification of actions in different areas of the deposit. Decisions taken on the basis of this scheme will improve the efficiency of the new wells, fracturing, and fund management injection wells.
Several papers were devoted the development of the concept of modeling, integrated into practical decision making processes; for example, V. Bochkov "Integrating geological risks when making decisions on development" ("Gazprom Neft NTC"), Fedorov et al "geological and hydrodynamic modeling in the development of oil rims" ("Gazprom Neft NTC), Babin, M . Hasanov and others "Using a hierarchy of models to determine the optimal system design" (Gazprom Neft NTC).
As has always been very interesting reports specialists “UfaNIPIneft” LLC.: Vitaly Baykova "Prospects geomechanical and hydrodynamic modeling in the design development of low-permeability reservoirs" and Andrei Yakovlev "Methods of mathematical modeling in the statistical underground fluid mechanics". In our view, it is virtually the only group in Russia, which is responsible for real mathematical modeling of complex reservoirs and is not limited to the consumption of ready- trivial western foods. Therefore, if you have the opportunity, be sure to try to get to the reports of these experts: it is at least for you to be very informative.
Representative of "UNTC" LLC. Khatmullina Elena also presented the work of a group of authors "Applications of operational hydrodynamic models in the business planning and study of geological and technical events". Presentation and report to the public were remembered, there were many questions from an audience, work has been featured by members the organizing committee.
Apart from the standard of the conference program was devoted to a full day training course from Gérard Masson (Company Total) “Problems of geological and reservoir simulation”. Rates impressed lecturer illustrated presentation catching animated examples. Also, they had expressed some ideas on approaches to scaling models. We hope that the materials of his presentation will be in time to get to a more detailed study.
In general, an event likes - and the reports were cognitive, and communication on the sidelines also allowed establishing new links for further cooperation. Big thanks to the organizers of the conference and Victoria Rachinckoy and Ulyana Dmitrieva. And, of course, I want to pay tribute to the co-chairs of the conference Hasanov Mars, Baikov Vitali, Thomas Earl, which formed the main conference program and asked the general tone of the event. In our opinion, of the three conferences under the banner of SPE, dealing with issues and modeling conducted in Russia, this has turned out the most interesting.
